Valves:-

Two different kinds of valve are used in IC engines (IC-internal combustion) Inlet valves bring fresh air with fuel mixture into the cylinder by opening and closing Inlet port, Exhaust valves exhaustion gas out of cylinder by opening and closing the Exhaust Port.

Process :-

Bi-metal (joint of two metals)-

Both valves Exhaust and Inlet are specially made from Bi-metal materials,

The Head of valve made with austenite steel (Non-magnet steel) to prevent corrosion, depreciation and increase life of valve more and Stem of valve are made with martensite steel (magnetic steel) to apply flame or induction hardening process on face of valve Tip (tappet face) to prevent depreciation and durability more….

Chrome plated valves –

Stem of valves are plated with chrome to prevent corrosion of surface of stem and to increase surface resistance, this process also get more durability between valve and guide.

Nitride valves-

Fully valves plated with nitration process to increase hardness of portion of valve and to increase resistance for their depreciation and corrosion, this process reduce friction of each portion, nitration decline stickiness even if there is no lubrication.
